With the increasing demand for access to our practice and our services we need to ensure that all available clinician time is used effectively and not wasted. Every appointment that is failed is time that could have been offered to another patient, some of whom wait over 3 months for treatment. For example last month we had 16hrs 30 minutes of lost time. Therefore we have no choice but to introduce the following policy.
A patient who fails to attend their appointment or cancels with less than 48 hours’ notice will now incur a “Fail to Attend (FTA) Charge”. This will need to be settled prior to booking any further appointments. All future appointments will be cancelled until this payment is made. As is currently in place, we will then require the cost of the planned appointment to be paid up front as a deposit. Should the patient FTA again the deposits are non-refundable.
£50 - £100 (including appointments where no charge was due for the original appointment, e.g. whitening review or free consultations)
Deposit paid – full deposit charged
Our reception team will need to check with the treating clinician if you are still able to be seen, and if not, if any charges are due.
If a patient FTA’s they have 2 choices:
Pay the above charges and rebook the same appointment
Sacrifice the appointment as part of their plan and rebook their next exam and/or hygiene as normal.
If a patient FTA’s 2 appointments within 3 months we reserve the right to de-register you as a patient from the practice.
Please ensure if cancelling and/or rebooking an appointment you give us the minimum of 48 hours’ notice, you can do this by using any of the following methods:
